Keira's Taut Psychological Thriller

Well, we didn't see Keira Knightley in The Jacket, but some ad said it was a "taut psychological thriller." Would it be psychologically thrilling if it weren't "taut"? No. That's like being a "devout Catholic." All or nothing.

Don't Smoke

We just want to go on record as saying that we think smoking is gross and bad and nobody should do it.

Also, we want to aver that Irina Sheik looks really fine when she's smoking.

We can live with conflict.

We're Undecided About Sharleen Spiteri

A long while ago, a reader suggested we feature Scottish singer Sharleen Spiteri.

This picture surfaced in a review of past suggestions and we decided to post it. We don't know if her eyebrows are up to our standards, but we think they might be...If you have an opinion one way or the other, please do let us know in the comments!

Scroll-down fact that you can look up: According to Wikipedia, "In June 2008 on The Graham Norton Show [Spiteri] revealed that she was recently involved in an argument with Paris Hilton in a London club and told her to fuck off." You won't find that in Britannica!

From Yimmys Yayo Inc.

We don't think there's any point in commenting on this. Nobody here could come up with anything to say about it.

Update: Well we could point out that the French maid's costume is incredibly trite and cliché. On the other hand, we could point out that we had looked at this photograph six times before we realized there was a French maid's costume.

Sent from a reader of Yimmys Yayo Inc.

Olivia Wilde Looks the Part

Actress Olivia Wilde looks suitably wild here. We love the boots. And the eyebrows.

Write Your Own Adventure with Model Catrinel Menghia

Did you ever wonder what you would do if you were asked on short notice to write the bio of a recently-popular supermodel? Of course you did. Never fear. We have written an outline you can use. It's in the form of a Mad Lib:
Supermodel was discovered in [small town in her country] by none other than [famous model agent] and at the age of [too young an age] her parents let her move to [big city in her country] where she finished [1st or 2nd] in a contest to find the next [famous model's name]. Since then she has appeared on the runway and in print for [lingerie and/or swimsuit designer] and will soon join [other famous model] as signature model representing [famous clothing line].
You should practice. Try it out on super-fine eyebrow superstar Catrinel Menghia:

Not Your Father's Lara Croft

In fact, it looks like Megan Fox will not be the next Tomb Raider after all. The rumors were wrong. Sorry, fans of that kind of thing. See obvious obligatory joke after the jump.

Scroll-down obvious obligatory joke after the jump: Raider?! We hardly know her!

Model Olya Zoueva from S Magazine

Do you need a woman to walk around some indeterminate urban environment at night?

Do you need her to gradually shed her clothes?

Do you need her to have an unbelievable body and perfect eyebrows?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then we suggest you contact model Olya Zoueva.

And Now an Actual Queen

That heavy dose of beauty queens reminded us that there is actual royalty out there – whatever that means. At least it gives us a reason to gaze upon Queen Rania of Jordan.

Miss America: Let Us Be the Judge

Well the word is in from Las Vegas, Nevada. The winner of the 2009 Miss America pageant is Miss Indiana, Katie Stam:

We congratulate Ms. Stam on what we assume was, for her, a difficult achievement. But we can't help thinking that if Blubrow were given the onerous responsibility of choosing who should wear the crown – which is actually a tiara, but whatever – we would choose someone with, well, better eyebrows.

Among this year's contenders would have been...

Miss New Hampshire, Natalie C. Shaw:

Miss Nevada, Julianna Erdesz:

Miss Minnesota, Angela McDermott:

Miss Hawaii, Nicole Fox (her "talent" is listed as Tahitian Otea. We'll bet!):

Miss Delaware, Galen Giaccone (platform issue: Dental Outreach – no joke):

Miss California, Jackie Geist:

And, somewhere under those distracting bangs, are the eyebrows of Miss Arkansas, Ashlen Batsen:

Congratulations to all the Photoshopped contestants. And next year, let's see the brows figure more prominently in the judging...

Maybelline Returns

Returns from what? Maybelline returns from Mom's Basement. We featured a Maybelline "kit for the girl on the go" last May. That was from the 1970s – but this one goes all the way back to 1960.

And this version is, as it says, "easy on the eyes."

Carnaval Is On Its Way

We told you how our mind works. And after thinking about Rio some more, we realized something: Carnaval is exactly four weeks away. We think. On Sunday, February 22 the Sambadrome will be buzzing and the party will be on.

So we thought we'd share some fun images from Carnaval 2008. Yes, there are always the eyebrows...and yet there is also so much more.

This lady didn't let the fact that her costume was falling off deter her from smiling and having fun. True Carnaval spirit!

Of course, the best way to ensure that your bra doesn't detach itself mid-samba is to forego the bra and just go with the body paint:

Even if we can't tell what the hell it's made out of or what it's supposed to look like, at least this bra is in place and intactnice eyebrows too!:

And finally, there's some point at which even a custom-made Carnaval bra cannot be made to fit adequately. At that point, just dance to the rhythm and enjoy the party:

Portia in the Afternoon

It's Friday, so we're just throwing some Portia de Rossi out there.

Namsayin'?

How Our Mind Works

So we were thinking about eyebrows, and so we posted the Freakstyle thing, and that made us think about how sexy it sounds when Brazilian women speak Portuguese, which made us think about Portugal, which made us think about the Olhares photo-sharing site, which reminded us of Amanda Com, which jogged our memory about the photo you see here.

And there you have it.

Freakstyle Beauty

There's some raw Brazilian brow power here. We like it. Thanks to Freakstyle for the always-enjoyable updates of Rio street-style!

Blu in the Twittersphere

We use Tweetdeck to keep up with Twitter. Actually, we don't look at it that much – although we love our followers! (We're @blubrow if you're interested – and we follow you back!)

Anyway, something called TwitScoop shows a tag cloud of terms which are "trending" at that moment among Twitterers. And lo and behold, the other day we saw our name!

A hearty Huzzah! went up in the Board room at Blubrow HQ, but then we clicked through to see what the Twittersphere was saying about us. Alas, people were just bitching about Blu-ray.

Oh well. We consoled ourselves with a photo of Manuela Arcuri's ass.

Scroll-down Freudian un-slip: Did we say "ass"? We meant "eyebrows."

Brewster Bails, but Rodriguez Rallies

We saw Jordana Brewster's name attached to yet another stupid installment in the Fast & Furious franchise (this one named, brilliantly....wait for it....Fast & Furious). So we watched the trailer. To our disappointment Brewster was only visible for a moment, and in too much shadow for us to see her brows.

However, all was not lost. Drunken scoffl – sorry, popular actress Michelle Rodriguez appears, brandishing not only her right armpit, but also her fast and furious dentition. Whoa.

Furtado: Better With Straighter Hair

We caught a moment of Nelly Furtado on TV the other night, and she seems to be sporting some horrific '80s-style perm.

We think she's better off with this more traditional look.

Eyewear Ads Strike Again

Clearly jealous of the favorable coverage we've given to both Lasik (two times) and to Sonoma Eyeworks, LensCrafters decided to get in on the action. Wisely, in our opinion.

Here's their contribution to the "vision-related ad with great eyebrow model." Not bad.

OK, Back to Celebrating

Once again, in honor of America's party mood, we are pre-scheduling this mid-day celebratory contribution.

Yay. Peace out!

Huntington-Whitely Dresses...Whitely

Model Rosie Huntington-Whitely showed up all dressed in white, so we thought we'd toss these out there.

Celebration is the Order of the Week

In the U.S. many young people are celebrating. A new leader takes office, and many are eager for change.

We wanted to post some items that convey this idea of celebration, of a new beginning, of hope for the future.

Instead, we just have pictures of drunk people being naked. We hope that this will suffice for now.

Beauty from Portugal: Photographer Tiago Manuel Capela de Oliveira

"Love" is a strong word. But we all fell in love at first sight with Liliana, as photographed by Portugal's talented Tiago Manuel Capela de Oliveira.

Chandni Chowk Charm

In May 2008 we mentioned that Bollywood's Deepika Padukone was just starting her acting career and that we expected to see her some more. And now we will. But there will still be some dance routines.

Actually, the trailer for her new flick, Chandni Chowk to China, looks damn funny. We made the projectionist run it a couple of times. And we grabbed these caps from the hi-def. Sweet!
