End of an Era: Our Final Eyebrow Post

It's been a great run.  But now we're done. This is the final blog post on Blu's Eyebrow Blog.

We'd planned to run up about a half dozen more posts, just to get to 1,600 total posts. But it's becoming too much of a chore, and not as fun as it used to be. So we'll stick with curating the Flickr group Women's Eyebrows, and leave this site up for search engines to find.

We also thought a lot about whose photo to use in our final post. Our first-ever post, back in March of 2007, showed this corner of Ines Sastre:

And it's right that it have a place of honor here at the end.

But there's really no arguing about the icon of all eyebrow-centric thinking. It's the one, the only, Audrey Hepburn. The last of our looks at Audrey (in the 33rd post to mention her), is at the bottom of this column. Before we share Funny Face, though, here are a few stats from the almost 6 years of eyebrow blogging here:

• Total posts: 1,595
• Comments: 152
• Page views all time: about 975,000

We checked on the most popular posts of all time too...some surprises, based on the lethal combo of our tags and peoples' search proclivities:

• Most popular (54,000 views): Something Sticking Out: Amateur Oops
• 2nd most popular (18,700 views): Feast of Eyebrow Love: Radha Mitchell
• 3rd most popular 18,000 views): Tennis Pro Ashley Harkleroad, Nude

Note that the #1 all-time keyword search driving traffic to us has been: "Oops." We also get a lot of people looking for nude photos of Maggie Siff, who we blogged twice but then forgot about because we don't think she's interesting.

Our biggest month for traffic ever was easily May 2008. That's when we got a link from Fleshbot, Gawker's pr0n site. We were also on a roll anyway, with more than 50 posts that month, generating extra traffic.

Our number one source of traffic, with more than 24,000 clicks through, is IndieNudes. We mentioned them in June 2007 and they linked to us, and the hits just keep on coming. Thanks again for the link, guys.

Worldwide, we're most popular in the USA, followed by the UK, Germany, Canada, and France.

Enough with the stats. You don't care about that anyway. Here's our final hurrah, as we hurtle past the 1,000,000 page views mark. Thanks to all our readers, commenters, contributors, and friends. It's been a great ride – we'll see you on Flickr.

Blonde, Brunettes: Clarke and Taylor

A few weeks ago we mentioned Emilia Clarke, in the context of the HBO series, Game of Tits.

So...let's take a look. But let's put it in an original context... Emilia is a brunette, but on the show, she's a bleach blonde. But she rocks the dark eyebrows. We love that!

But just for a little context, like we said, we want to include a picture of another brunette who rocked the blonde look. Elizabeth Taylor, not as we have always seen her:

Lotsa talk about Game of Thrones. Or, as we called it for a while, Game of Tits.

Except there aren't even that many tits anymore, it seems.

But...there are eyebrows!

We'll look at the dragon lady Emilia Clarke's brows in a future post, but they're already noted in the media. You don't hear as much about this lady's brows:

That's Oona Chaplin. She's the grand-daughter of actor Charlie Chaplin, and great-grand-daughter of Nobel Prize winning playwright Eugene O'Neill.

On Game of Thrones she plays some character named Lady Talisa, whose purpose makes as much sense as the roles played by every other person associated with this clusterfuck of a show.

That is to say: none.  

But we dig the brows.

Emily Ratajkowski: Treats Indeed

Emily Ratajkowski apparently was a kid TV actress on Nickelodeon.

Fast forward.

Emily Ratajkowski is an insanely endowed model with nice eyebrows.

Throwback Thursday: In Between Liz

We see a lot of young Liz Taylor, looking glamorous and sweet. Then we see a lot of older Liz Taylor, hanging on to Jocko's arm or swaying in her chair on the set of Larry King Live.

In between, was the Liz Taylor seen on the cover of Modern Screen magazine circa early 1971. Still rockin' the brows.

There are a lot of Mexican actresses we've never heard of. Here's one now:

Andrea Garcia.

This is how she appeared in a magazine called H Extremo. We don't know anything about her except that

• is the daughter of a Dominican
  
• is the grand-daughter of a Spaniard
• has a perfect, perfect ass.
  

Also, she holds up her hair a lot, and has decent eyebrows.

Old People Can't Tweet: Melissa George Topless

Yeah sure we saw her amazing nekkidness in Dark City (we can't remember anything else about that film). But why not interrupt the week with a somewhat recent news story about Melissa George's eyebrows? With a cameo by her left breast.

Her boyfriend, old rich dude Russell Simmons, tweeted these pics to the world, accidentally. So thoughtful Blubrow fan and starlet namesake Melissa from Ohio sent them along. And we had, indeed, missed them.

Start Off the Year with a Bang. Literally.

Happy 2012 to all eyebrow fans and readers, casual or faithful. We're planning to keep up with our roughly "every Monday" posting plan, since it works for us. (If it doesn't work for you, well...too bad.)

To kick off the new year we're taking a look at Belen Rodriguez. She's a pretty, sexy brunette model and TV type from Argentina, who lives in Italy and who made headlines a while back because of – shocking!!! – a leaked sex tape.

Normally this is pretty boring news to us, but we actually checked this one out, because, as you can see below, her eyebrows are so quality. Bottom line though: don't bother. She's not that famous, and even though she looks great (and we appreciate her technique in some specific aspects) it's blurry, dark and confusing most of the time. Like teenager sex.

Bond 23 comes out just a little less than a year from now, in November 2012.

So as you may be able to tell from the action shots, Selena Rose is a porn actress (you're supposed to say "porn star" but we don't really have any idea whether she's a "star" or just another porn woman).

What we do have an idea about is whether her eyebrows are worth checking out. And the answer is:

Here's Valerie Leon, whom we've seen before.

Maybe we're just horny (I know, sounds far-fetched), but....this is the sexiest expression we've seen on a brunette in a long time.

Or maybe it's just the eyebrows.
