Our Christmas Card

A year ago we introduced you to our calling cards (sample above), which have been left in various restaurants, taxi cabs, hotels and airports around the globe. Maybe you came here because you picked one up? We hope so.

In any case, since then we've appeared on Facebook, on Flickr (the Women's Eyebrows group!), and on Twitter (follow us and we'll follow you back).

We're looking forward to another year of blogging the best brows and we thank our loyal readers. Hell, we even thank the traitorous ones.

Merry Christmas, if that's your thing, and if it's not, sit tight. We'll be back with some brows in a few hours.

Pier Angeli: Another Card

As I'm sure you will remember, back in December we saw a Maple Leaf Gum playing card of ill-fated Italian starlet Pier Angeli.

We stumbled across a cigarette card, also popular with collectors, of Signorina Angeli at a younger age – but still with the eyebrows.

Martine Carol: A Woman With Whom Klaus Kinski Has Had Sex, According to Klaus Kinski

McSweeney's saved us the trouble of reading Klaus Kinski's autobiography, which is nice, since if we had read it we would then want to kill ourselves. The only reason to even contemplate reading it is for the list of women with whom Klaus Kinski has had sex, according to Klaus Kinski.

One of those women is French actress Martine Carol:

Mme. Carol had fine eyebrows, but her life was fraught with drama (a suicide attempt, perhaps provoked by being shown a galley proof of Klaus Kinski's autobiography), comedy (an overnight kidnapping by French gangster Pierre Loutrel, a/k/a Crazy Pete – a criminal so brutal, even the Gestapo distanced itself from his gang), and tragedy (she died of a heart attack at 46 years of age).

She was fond of opera gloves (cue the fetish tag), and she was featured on a cigarette card:

Scroll-down list of names for your band based on the list of women with whom Klaus Kinski has had sex, according to Klaus Kinski:

An Eyebrow Holiday Card. Sort Of.

Ho ho ho.

It is after midnight here in Eyebrowland, and that means it's Christmas for some of you. The presents are wrapped and placed under the tree, you scarfed down the cookies and milk after lying to your kids about "Santa" (nice job), and it's time to surf the web for fetish porn – a holiday tradition!

Well you've come to the wrong place. At least for now. However, all is not lost. If you are looking for a new way to tell your friends and neighbors about your obsession with Blu's Eyebrow Blog, look no further.

Now we have business cards.

Our New Year's Resolution is to go viral, in order to spread the joy of fabulous eyebrows. And to do that, what better way than colorful little cards, printed with a pop art eyebrow on one side, and our URL on the other?

So if you're one of the visitors who came here because you picked up a card, drop us an email and tell us where you found it. And then leave it someplace where another unsuspecting victim will pick it up in turn.

Today, a modest blog. Tomorrow, World Eyebrow Domination.

Scroll-down Disclaimer: Just got a call from Blubrow's General Counsel. She wants me to tell you that "Card size is yea big," so keep a sharp lookout for those cards. They're small (but they're powerful). And they come in different color combos, so collect all ten! (Sample above is one such combo).

And...personal thanks to the loyal fan who provided a royalty-free image of her very own eyebrow (and other special help) for this important project!

Pier Angeli

The beautiful Italian actress Pier Angeli died young - aged 39. She was known for many things, including being engaged to Kirk Douglas, and being married to Vic Damone. But the most sensational story is that she was romantically involved with James Dean (who also, by the way, died young).

Oh, and remember that awesome Maple Leaf Gum playing card of Natalie Wood? Check it! Pier Angeli was the 4 of diamonds!

Scroll-down I-shoulda-known-that head-smacker:

Actress Marisa Pavan was Pier Angeli's twin sister.

Natalie Wood

When I was writing about Deborah Kerr yesterday I remembered Natalie Wood! She had some righteous eyebrows, and a unique appeal.

The black and white photo below is my favorite of her.

Deal me in bonus:
Around 1959, Maple Leaf Gum made playing cards of a number of stars. Here is Natalie's.
