The Eyebrows of Stargate SG1: The Ark of Truth

We are trying to tie together a couple of past threads here....we've seen the Eyebrows of Star Trek and the Eyebrows of UFO. So we figured we better dive into The Eyebrows of Stargate SG1. But that show was on for ten years, plus a couple of movies (not including the original that kicked off the whole franchise).

Then there's the dreadful Stargate Atlantis...and soon Stargate Universe (more about that in an upcoming post). So here are a few screenshots from the enjoyable (intentionally–straight–to–DVD) flick Stargate SG1: The Ark of Truth.

With Claudia Black in there as Vala, it could be called The Arch of Truth:

We saw the original Stargate movie (again) the other day, and we must say that the only thing wrong with it is the lack of super-hot chick bad-assness. Is there something about desert movies that makes a complete lack of sexy women somehow acceptable?

Beau Geste.

Stargate.

This is where SG-1 got it right.

We used to watch Stargate SG-1 without fail. One reason? After Col. Jack "Macgyver" O'Neil left the cast, an alien named Vala Mal Doran, played by Aussie Claudia Black, kept things interesting:


She'll reappear for Stargate fans in the upcoming DVD release, Ark of Truth. Here's a highish rez still from that production....


The eyebrows have not returned to their Farscape-era intensity (which we have documented already), but they're better than they were when she appeared on Xena!:

Sci Fibrows: Claudia Black

Yeah, I know! When I saw Aussie hottie Claudia Black in the sometimes-watchable sci fi show Farscape (above) I thought I had died and gone to Eyebrow Heaven.

And when she showed up on a show that was actually (relatively) good, Stargate SG-1, I was floored. But while the Farscape makeup experts played up her good raw eyebrow materials, the Stargaters were in my opinion too restrained and failed to quite live up to the potential.

No matter. She's a fine addition to the Blubrow chronicles.
