Crystal Renn, Plus Size Eyebrows

Model (and now author) Crystal Renn is in the news because of her book, Hungry, about being a plus-size model, and because she discusses the pressure on women in the modeling profession to get small by any (unhealthy) means possible.

We actually don't care too much about that...we just think she has some crazy-ass eyebrows.

We were reading The Economist, because we're so effing smart, and we said aloud, to nobody in particular, "Wha?!?!?" when we saw this.

It's a young Cuban woman, who is featured in the magazine for some reason we cannot remember.

But you certainly know why she is featured here.

America's Next Great Eyebrows

We were delighted to see Zeba Khan on CNN this week. She was eloquent, thoughtful, educated, and...had these amazing eyebrows!

She was introduced as "first runner up in the search for America's next great pundit." We don't know what the hell that means, but we hope it means we see her around a bit more...

Erica Blasberg R.I.P.

Recent news from the world of pro golf: 25-year old Erica Blasberg was found dead in her Las Vegas home, and authorities are tight-lipped about the cause of death and the circumstances. Whatever the real story, sad to lose young people with bright futures.

We don't follow golf, but we had flagged this portrait of Blasberg by photographer Keith Allison, whose work we appreciate:

Breaking: Decent Eyebrows at 10 Downing Street

The Conservatives have won the British election, at least enough to have their dude as Prime Minister. And the dude's wife is Samantha Cameron.

We don't know a damned thing about her, except that if she trimmed the bangs we could get a better look at the eyebrows. Anyway, we hear she's pregnant (has two kids already), and we're sure she'll be in the news a lot with all that, so stay tuned.

Nevermind Boobquake. How About Browquake?

Doubtless you heard that a Muslim cleric blamed immodest dress and sinful behavior by women for the recent spate of earthquakes that have wreaked havoc globally. Yes, those Haitian, Chilean, Chinese and Indonesian hussies are to blame!

To test and counter this claim, Boobquake was born on Facebook. Last Monday, women were encouraged to expose some skin in an effort to disprove the cleric's scientific hypothesis, thereby advancing not only seismology, but also its more enjoyable counterpart: sizemology.

You heard that here first.

Amy Williams: The Skeleton Has Eyebrows

There's a crazy-ass winter sport that only surfaces in the public consciousness during the Olympic Games (which is now). Racers throw themselves down face first on a cookie sheet that quickly reaches some ungodly speed approaching 100 mph. If they live, they can earn Olympic gold – like today's featured athlete, Great Britain's Amy Williams. We saw her interviewed and immediately disliked her, but she gets credits for having the only decent eyebrows we've seen in the Games so far.

There was some controversy over whether her helmet was within the regulations, but the truth is, nobody really gives a good goddamn. For better or worse, the sport is already forgotten until the next winter Olympic Games.

Miss America 2010

Congratulations to Caressa Cameron of Virginia, crowned this past weekend as Miss America 2010. We can't wait for the nude phone pics to surface.

Until then, we're going to give her a passing grade on the eyebrows, even though the consensus here at Blubrow HQ is that there's some cosmetic enhancement of those brows.

Amateurs on the Weekends: The Undie Run

Amateurs on the Weekends is one thing we'll try to keep doing more or less consistently. The first such post of 2010 brings you some comely co-eds from UCLA, by way of an event called The Undie Run. We told you last August that this event was supposedly banned, but students are persistent, clever and clueless, so they went ahead and did it anyway. Not only are there many pieces of lingerie in evidence, there are a few choice eyebrows too.

Let's see....We're not sure if bra/panty combos are "supposed to" match, but we're forgiving at least the lass on the right for the mismatch. Those brows make up for any fashion faux pas (that's French!):


The lady in blue has the brows we're looking for, but did you know that Geordi La Forge went to UCLA too?

We noticed the eyebrows on this artistic rendering of blogger Caroline McCarthy, who writes The Social over on C|Net.

So we got to wondering what she really looks like. And here she is:

College Campus Bra Parties: Undie Runs

Well we know we just experienced a bunch of bra party fun on Blubrow, including Sasha Grey, but when the news breaks, we are there.

In case you hadn't heard, UCLA has apparently forbidden organizers of the school's annual Undie Run to hold the event on campus.

Makes sense: Your students insist on gathering by the hundreds to run around at night in their bras and panties? Better make sure they go out into the neighborhoods away from campus, instead of staying within the friendly confines. What could possibly go wrong?

Meanwhile, we tweeted about this news item and wouldn't you know it, our in box filled with Undie Run snapshots - complete with eyebrows! Thanks to the naughty lady who was hoarding these because, as she says, "I like boobies." Hey, who doesn't?

In case the rock you live under doesn't have TV, you won't have watched Maria Belen Chapur (seen here). She is the forbidden BFF of Governor Mark "I'm a hypocritical assclown" Sanford.

Anyway, we'll see her more clearly soon enough, but this enticing glimpse of her Latina brows was too good to pass up...

You Heard it Here First: Strong Eyebrow Comeback is a Hit

According to Trendhunter, a site which apparently hunts for trends,

The strong eyebrow comeback was a hit at the shows of Yves Saint Laurent, Vera Wang, Louis Vuitton, and Marc Jacobs, who stated that this season was “all about the return of the eyebrows.”

Well for better or worse, bring it on. Are we going to have to start posting three times a day?

Golf: Now Even More Dissatisfying

We don't care about golf, but if we did we'd root for Phil Mickelson. Why? Two reasons:

1. He's left-handed, and that probably means that golf courses are harder for him to play, since we assume they are all designed with right-handed players in mind, but honestly, we don't know if there's a big difference, or if at some point (like when you become professional) you are so good at golf that it doesn't matter;

and

2. His wife Amy Mickelson (seen here with silly hat) has pretty decent eyebrows. But now we hear she is diagnosed with cancer which obviously sucks, so since he would be our favorite golfer if we had one, she will be our favorite golfer's wife, if we had one, which we do now, and it's Amy Mickelson. We hope she fights it and wins (like Deanna Favre apparently is doing).
