We haven't been as frequent with our postings the last few months, but we hope you enjoy what you see.
This is our 1,500th posting since early 2007. That's a lot of copyright violation.
We celebrate with our all-time favorite subject:
Audrey Hepburn.
Props to contributor-reader Jonathan for sharing this with us.
See you in January!

The Legacy of Carlo Mollino
One of the by-products of blogging just once a week (instead of every day) is that the focus moves from quantity toward quality. We hope that, while the number of eyebrows and related body parts might be lower overall, the particular choices are more...appreciated. Or noteworthy. Or enjoyable.
We spent a long time this morning reading about the legacy of Italian designer Carlo Mollino. He was diversely talented, with a career spanning architecture, furniture design (the chairs in the photos here are of his creation), photography, and literature. A New York Times article gives some background, but we suggest doing a Google image search for his name and just sitting back and enjoying what crops up.
Meanwhile, we'll be sitting back and enjoying these Italian eyebrows of the 1950s, which Signore Mollino photographed with his unique chairs...

Margaux Hemingway, November 1982
Margaux Hemingway, for those too young to know, was the granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway. She was a 6 foot tall model who got into acting as well (like her younger sister Mariel). Margaux took her own life in 1996 at the age of 42.
In the mid-1970s, as a 22 year old, she starred in the film Lipstick, which was supposed to launch her crossover from modeling to acting. But Mariel, who also appeared in the film, is the one who benefited most, and Margaux is said to have felt largely passed over by the results. Either way, the film is really jacked up.
The cover of the November 1982 issue of PHOTO was shot by Mario Scavullo. Not sure if it's suppose to relate to Margaux's film debut, but to us, the brows trump the lipstick anyway.

America's Next Great Eyebrows
We were delighted to see Zeba Khan on CNN this week. She was eloquent, thoughtful, educated, and...had these amazing eyebrows!
She was introduced as "first runner up in the search for America's next great pundit." We don't know what the hell that means, but we hope it means we see her around a bit more...

Suicide Girl: Shine
We let our Suicide Girls subscription lapse. It was a great run, and we have loved critiquing and enjoying the sets and the eyebrows most of all.
But in the end, it got a bit repetitive. And we miss Manko. And London.
From our residual list of brows we wanted to highlight this SG, named Shine.

Checking in, with Horne and Jablonski
We are flat out with a variety of boring shitstorms, so we can't provide you with a constant stream of eyebrowiana. And for that we are profoundly sorry.
What we can do, however, is stop by every week or so and drop something on you to hold you over. Like these photos from Benny Horne. These are great because, among other reasons, we love Jacquelyn Jablonski.

Tony Sailed Across the Bar
That's Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon (aka Lola). Not sure how old she was when the above photo was snapped, but times have changed. She is grooming the unibrow and the 'stache – oh, and she is blogging. That's a public thing, so although she's just 13, and we tend to shy away from underage brow, she is a public figure now. And we're not trashing her (her mom...well that's different).
One learned and sage blog we read said that Lourdes has the "required skills" to become an actress: "she plays piano and spends a lot of time enjoying fashion." Sounds right. And no matter what, she can't make a film more horrible or nauseating or embarrassing than her mother's Shanghai Surprise.
Here's a more recent photo, and we pondered this look for a long time. Ultimately, our overriding sentiment is that we're astonished at the sheer extent of those brows...they seem to go for miles.

Welcome to September and Happy Labor Day to US workers.
We're in the US but there's no rest for the likes of us. We have to bring you the eyebrows photographed by UK-based cameraman Rokas Darulis.

Somewhere in Chicago
We were scanning Freakstyle – as you do – and we saw this:
It came from here. We love the eyebrows, but the watch sealed the deal.

The Brows That Wouldn't Dye: Virginia Leith
This beauty is "sultry B-movie brunette with husky voice" Virginia Leith.
If you're like us, you stayed up past your bedtime without permission when you were about 11 or 12, and you watched this movie on the Late Late Late Show (or if you're younger, you watched it on MST-3K). Either way, you should know that the sexy actress (photographed below by Stanley Kubrick) – and her most awesomest film is:
The Brain That Wouldn't Die.
Sure it's dumb, but trust me – back in the day, this stuff was terrifying. Or gross, anyway. Point is, it's a classic, and you can watch the whole thing on YouTube. Enjoy it.

The Eyebrow Group on Flickr: 100 Members
We have a group on Flickr. It's called Women's Eyebrows (go figure).
There are now 100 members, and almost 500 photos in the group. If you haven't checked it out, you should. It's full of brow awesomeness, like this gem from Flickr user ℓεℓα:

We Need Your Help: The Captioneer Blog
We don't waste our down time at Blubrow HQ. We blog other stuff.
One thing we blog is occasional absurd photos from around the web. Now we want you to help us with a very important task:
Can you do it? If so, surf over here:
and leave a comment with your caption for any of the 150+ photos we've got online. If it's funny (according to us) we'll publish it. You can remain anonymous, or publish a fake name or whatever.
Just make the caption funny.
Oh, and here's an eyebrow photo. Nothing funny about this!

Breaking: Miss Universe Eyebrow Review
Miss Universe has been crowned, and she is...
...Jimene Navarrete of Mexico! Congratulations to the former Miss Jalisco and Miss Mexico! And nice eyebrows!
We scanned the other ladies – as you do – and found a few we thought worthy of mention in our own pageant – Miss Eyebrow, 2010. What do you think?
Miss Albania, Angela Martini:
Miss Australia, Jesinta Campbell:
Miss Georgia, Nana Gogichaishvili:
And Miss Lebanon, Rahaf Abdallah:
Scroll-down pageant controversy: No, not the body painting thing. We were scandalized by Jesinta's "national costume" which included high-heel Ugg boots. WTF?!

Them in Their Place
This guy came up with something that doesn't seem original, doesn't do anything in particular, and isn't – frankly – consistently interesting. It's called Me In My Place.
And yet...the Intarblah works in mysterious ways. He's a hit! So we culled some brows and away we go.
Nice job, dude. Nice job.

Week to Week Now: Back with Audrey
So we took a break. Ahhhhhhhhh. That was good.
Now we're back. But we're busy people, and believe it or not, eyebrow blogging is not as lucrative as it used to be. So we're working jobs on the side. As a result, we cannot promise to post more than once a week for the indefinite future.
We know – you are hurt. You are devastated. We need to soothe your feelings of betrayal, sorrow and – disappointment.
Here's Audrey (and Ip). She'll make you feel so much better. She always does.
Courtesy of the ladies at Suicide Blonde. See you next week.

As evidenced by our inability to distinguish Winona Ryder from Natalie Portman, we need a damn break from blogging. Thanks to the folks who pointed out our idioticnessness.

Something for....Us
We confess to being of what the French call, "a certain age." That is, we are old enough to have seen Devo in concert when they were..."fresh." Before there was Jocko Homo. When being a Spud Boy was patriotic.
Anyway, we have modeled our lives after the example set by the inimitable General Boy, and as a result, faithful contributor (and honorary Blubrow blog photo editor) Jonathan has provided us with the album cover from Devo's new album, Something for Everybody.
We don't care about everybody, we just want stuff for ourselves. And this will do nicely, thank you very much.
Scroll-down props: We also loved Booji Boy, just like a brother. Are we not men? But General Boy came to us in a dream and said, "Be like your ancestors. Or be different. It doesn't matter!" And then Booji became Boogie and it all went to hell. Look, just enjoy the eyebrows.

Without A Dream of a Theme
The other day we saw two random girlfriends or something, bound together by a common thread: their bodacious cleavage.
Today we're looking at two photos of random women, bound together by exactly nothing.
This woman has decorated her face, but she can't hide the eyebrow talent:
And this is a carload of señoritas from España.
Cha cha cha!
