What's Between Beauty and Fashion?

A long time ago we stopped clicking the "Next Blog" button on Blogger, because the results were always so disappointing. They are mostly blogs by people like this, selling cosmetics:

The blogs always have names like What Lachesis Thinks or What Kristel Sez.

Today, on a whim, we hit that sucker anyway and to our surprise found Alpha Blonde...
A yound lady named Aleksis (pictured in black, taking her own photo) writes about "Beauty. Fashion. And everything in between." We had a short water-cooler convo about what, exactly is in between, and came up with this answer:

Eyebrows.

Not sure if Aleksis would agree, but then, we're biased. In Aleksis's case, the brows seem reinforced with cosmetics, but that's ok because it's not always easy for blondes. In this case, we're all about the crazy shape. Of the brows, that is. Of course.

Anyway, kudos to her with the cruelty-free thing, and with the eyebrows. Maybe we'll hit that "Next Blog" button a little more often.

Nunez Gets All Sultry On Us and Whatnot

In an attic studio or in a windy streetscape, Carlos Nunez again gets to the heart of the matter. And by the heart of the matter we mean, roughly in order of importance:

• eyebrows,
  
• tits, and
  
• chainmail halter tops.

And Now, Sport

There's a soccer tournament going on in Africa. We have imported a large supply of bootleg vuvuzelas and rise early each day to cheer on our favorite squads.

We wanted to remind you that next time you're at a stadium to attend a match in person, look around and see who else is there.

This photo from 1969 shows the wives of the players on the Dutch side Ajax of Amsterdam. The pretty lady on the right caught our attention, and is none other than Carla Suurendonk. Her husband, Ruud Suurendonk, was the "Twelfth Apostle" on the famous team before Johnny Rep joined the side in '72.

But we digress. Back to the eyebrows.

Back to the Present with Blasts from the Past

We were called away unexpectedly to investigate an international eyebrow incident, but found no evidence of wrongdoing and are now back at our posts. A lot of people (?) ask us what our daily work is like here at Blubrow HQ. We like to think of it as "The Bourne Identity meets The Da Vinci Code, but with eyebrows."

Anyway, we're back, and to fill the gap we're sharing a few Old Timers – vintage hotties who were ahead of their time, at least in terms of their willingness to get naked for the camera. On the other hand, they were very much a product of their time in terms of wearing silk stockings.

Mmm!

Three years ago today, June 3, 2007, we posted an admittedly uncharitable commentary on Kelly Brook. Among other things, we called her a "nobody," and we said her boobs were "horrible."

We also dissed her fiancé, Billy Zane. This is dumb, because he could kick our ass. But it's OK, because they broke up in 2008, although now she's dating a rugby player (Danny Cipriani) who could kick our ass and Billy Zane's ass, and your sorry ass.

Anyway...this week we saw a reference to how "Kelly Brook has finally posed nude!" And we consulted Eyebrowpedia™ and sure enough, found out that these photos (supposedly a big scoop by Lad Mag or something) were actually from Arena, and appeared in 2005.

So look. We apologize for saying all those bad things about Kelly. We still don't like big (ok, giant) boobs, but we bet she's a fine girl overall. Are you listening, Mr. Cipriani?
